SystemZen — User Manual

Last updated: July 2026 · Covers SystemZen for macOS, Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Android

Every number SystemZen shows traces back to real files or caches you can inspect. Nothing is removed without you seeing what it is first, and nothing is inflated to make a cleanup look bigger than it is.

Running your first scan

Open the app and run a full scan — free on every platform, any time. It lists exactly what is using your storage: app caches, duplicate photos, large downloads, and which apps are draining your battery or your data plan.

Cleaning up

As a junk cleaner, SystemZen only touches what is yours: its own cache and any folder you have specifically granted access to, with the size shown before you tap Clean. Files move through your operating system’s normal delete confirmation — nothing is removed without your say-so.

Finding duplicate photos

My Clutter scans your photo and download library for duplicates and large files using real file hashing, not guesswork by filename or date — so what it offers to remove really is the same file twice.

Space Lens

Breaks down your photos, videos, downloads, and SystemZen’s own footprint against your total device storage, so you can see at a glance where the space actually went.

Watching your data usage

Optimize Internet Speed shows real per-app data totals — with Usage Access granted on Android — plus live aggregate throughput, so you can see exactly what is using your data plan.

Performance

Reads live RAM and battery figures straight from the operating system — total memory, what is free, and whether the system is under pressure — next to per-app data totals. Where the platform’s own sandbox makes a fix impossible, SystemZen says so rather than faking a spinner — freeing memory is listed as unavailable on a phone, for example, not pretended at.

Smart Care

A live health score for your device plus a ranked list of what to fix first, based on what the scan actually measured — never a generic checklist.

Signing in and history sync

Sign in and your scan history syncs across every device you use SystemZen on. Runs completed while signed out stay on that device only and are not backfilled after you sign in — see syncing if a run is missing.

Free vs. Pro

Free includes a full scan, a live health score, and one starter cache clean. Pro unlocks unlimited cleanup, duplicate removal, the full tools list, and scheduled automatic maintenance. One subscription covers every device you sign into — see pricing.

If something isn’t working

See support for permissions questions, restoring a purchase, and deleting your account.
