Who we are

Flourish PDF is developed and published by Soft Flourish, an independent software studio and publishing house based in California, USA. Questions: contact us.

Your documents

We never receive, store, transmit, or process the contents of your PDFs. All document work — opening, editing, page operations, annotation, redaction, form filling, signing, and export — happens entirely on your device. There is no server-side document pipeline in Flourish PDF.

Scanning and OCR

Camera scanning and text recognition (OCR) run on-device using your operating system's built-in capabilities — Apple's VisionKit and Vision frameworks on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, and Google ML Kit's on-device models on Android. Page images and recognized text are never uploaded.

AI features

The AI features (summarize, ask about your document, translate, rewrite, proofread, and outlines) run on your device's own on-device AI — Apple's Foundation Models on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, Google ML Kit / Gemini Nano on Android, and, on Windows (version 1.9 and later), a Microsoft Phi model run by Microsoft's Foundry Local runtime on your PC's own processor. Your document text is never sent to us, to a cloud AI provider, or to any third party. If your device doesn't support on-device AI, the feature is simply unavailable; we never fall back to a cloud service.

Windows model download.The Windows AI model (about 2.5 GB) is not part of the app. It downloads from Microsoft's model catalog only when you first open an AI tool and choose to download it, into the app's own folder; you can remove it at any time from AI Model. The download request carries no document content. Microsoft states that its runtime may send a minimal process-information event even with telemetry turned off; it contains nothing from your documents. The AI tools need a PC with at least 8 GB of memory; on smaller PCs they stay unavailable.

What we collect

Only if you choose to create an account or subscribe:

• Email address — to identify your account and let you sign in on other devices.
• Name — only if you sign in with Apple or Google and choose to share it.
• A user identifier — an anonymous ID that links your account to your subscription.
• Subscription status— which plan you're on and whether it is active, so the app can unlock the right features.

You can use Flourish PDF without an account. Signing in is only required to use a paid subscription across devices.

What we never collect

• Your PDFs, or anything inside them
• Page images, scans, or OCR output
• AI prompts, questions, summaries, or translations
• Your file names, folders, or document history
• Cross-app tracking data — nothing we send is combined with your activity in other companies' apps or websites

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by the platform you bought them on — Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or our web checkout for Windows. We never see or store your card details. We use RevenueCat as our subscription-management provider to tell the app whether your plan is active.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors, strictly to run accounts and subscriptions:

• Google Firebase Authentication — account sign-in and identity.
• RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement status.
• Google Cloud— hosts the small service that tells your app which plan you're on.
• Google AdMob — serves the ads on the free tier of the iPhone, iPad, and Android apps (see Advertising below).
• Google Firebase Analytics — basic usage and performance signals in the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android apps (see Analytics below).

None of these receive your documents or their contents.

Advertising — free tier, mobile only

The iPhone, iPad, and Android apps are supported by ads on the free tier, served by Google AdMob. Any paid plan removes them. The Mac and Windows apps contain no advertising code whatsoever.

When an ad is requested, Google collects and receives:

• Approximate location — a coarse region derived from your IP address. The app holds no location permission and never reads your GPS.
• App interactions — which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped.
• Diagnostics — app performance signals such as launch time and energy use.
• Device or other identifiers — on Android, the advertising ID and app set ID. iPhone and iPad supply no advertising identifier at all, because Flourish PDF never asks permission to track.

These go to Google as an advertising partner and are used for serving ads, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google's handling is governed by its own privacy policy.

Flourish PDF does not track you.Every ad request the app makes is marked non-personalized, on every platform, and nothing it sends is combined with your activity in other companies' apps or websites. On iPhone and iPad there is no App Tracking Transparency prompt because the app never requests permission to track and never reads your device's advertising identifier. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID under Settings → Privacy → Ads. Your documents are never part of an ad request.

Analytics

The iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android apps include Google Firebase Analytics, which automatically records app opens, screen views, session length, and basic device and performance information. We use it to see which features are used and where the app is slow. We do not record custom events describing your documents, their contents, or your file names. We do not sell personal information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account record for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time via our contact form, and we will remove it. Deleting the app alone does not delete your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold so little, these requests are usually simple — just contact us.

Children

Flourish PDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International transfers

Our account and subscription infrastructure is operated in the United States. Because your documents never leave your device, no document data is transferred anywhere.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will update this page and revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
