SurfaceIQ — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SurfaceIQ(“the app”) collects, uses, and shares information. SurfaceIQ is published by Soft Flourish, operated by Fenul LLC, a California limited liability company. It supplements the general Soft Flourish Privacy Policy and controls where the two differ for this app.
By using SurfaceIQ you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
What SurfaceIQ does
SurfaceIQ uses your device camera (and, on supported devices, LiDAR/ARCore depth) to scan surfaces — walls, floors, panels, equipment, vehicles — and highlight visual anomalies such as cracks, stains, dents, and wear.
Your photos stay on your device
Raw scan imagery never leaves your device. Anomaly detection runs entirely on-device. We do not upload, store, or have access to your captured photos or camera feed. If you subscribe to SurfaceIQ Pro and enable cloud sync, only your findings and report metadata (e.g. anomaly type, severity, measurements) are synced to your account — not the underlying images, unless you explicitly export/share a report yourself.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and an account identifier (user ID) when you create an account or sign in, via Firebase Authentication. Used only to operate your account and sync your data.
- Purchase information: your subscription status and purchase history for SurfaceIQ Pro, from Apple or Google. We never receive your full payment card details — billing is handled by the app store.
- Findings & reports (Pro cloud sync): scan metadata you choose to save to your account.
- Advertising & diagnostics (free tier): to show ads to free users, the Google AdMob SDK collects an advertising device identifier and related advertising/usage and diagnostic data. See below.
Advertising and tracking
The free version of SurfaceIQ shows ads through Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob collects a device advertising identifier and information about the ads you see and interact with, and may derive coarse (city-level) location from your IP address, in order to serve and measure advertising. This identifier may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. On iOS, we ask for your permission first via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt — you can decline and continue using every feature. SurfaceIQ Pro is ad-free and performs no advertising tracking.
AdMob's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
How we use information
- Authenticate your account and sync your saved findings across your devices
- Provide and manage the SurfaceIQ Pro subscription and free-tier limits
- Show and measure ads to free-tier users
- Diagnose crashes and improve reliability
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage) — account, sync, and backend.
- Google AdMob — advertising to free-tier users.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription validation and billing.
Data retention & your rights
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see SurfaceIQ Support); we remove it within 30 days except where retention is required by law. You may request access to or correction of your data by contacting us.
Children's privacy
SurfaceIQ is rated 4+ but is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
